Dr. Carson Scharf

PT, DPT, USAW

Carson Scharf’s path to physical therapy was shaped by a lifelong love of sports and a desire to work in healthcare. Having played multiple sports growing up, he knew early on that he wanted a career that would combine his passion for athletics with his interest in medicine. Physical therapy stood out as the profession that allows for meaningful, long-term relationships with patients—guiding them through the full journey from injury to recovery.

Carson earned his bachelor's degree from Salisbury University and completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. His academic training was complemented by hands-on clinical experience working with a variety of sports teams at both the University of Maryland and UMBC, where he treated athletes across a wide range of disciplines and competitive levels.

Carson specializes in sports and orthopedic physical therapy, with a particular interest in working with athletes in basketball, wrestling, lacrosse, and swimming. His background as a multi-sport athlete and a USA Weightlifting (USAW) coach informs his approach to treatment - emphasizing strength, mobility, and functional return to sport.

With a focus on individualized care and performance-based rehab, Carson is dedicated to helping athletes recover fully and return stronger. Whether working with elite competitors or everyday athletes, he brings a high level of insight, energy, and commitment to every patient he treats.
