Dr. Jillian VanLandeghem

PT, DPT

Jillian VanLandeghem’s connection to physical therapy stretches back to childhood. A lifelong athlete who competed in gymnastics, dance, volleyball, and more, she experienced her share of sports-related injuries from an early age — including a hamstring injury from gymnastics that brought her to True Sports Physical Therapy in Fells Point as a patient. Jillian always had a drive to push herself and those around her, and it was her grandmother who first recognized that quality, setting her up to observe with her own physical therapist. From that moment, Jillian was hooked. She finds fulfillment in giving patients autonomy through their care, empowering them to make lasting changes and continue to improve on their own.

Jillian earned her Bachelor of Science on a Pre-Physical Therapy track, where she served as research manager for the Vestibular Lab, a teaching assistant for first-year DPT students, and president of the Dance Ensemble. She went on to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where she stayed actively involved in the community — participating in UMB Wellness fairs providing screenings, serving as co-class representative for the UMB Health Alliance, and volunteering with Swim Across America and Mid-Atlantic Burn Camp.

Jillian’s clinical experience spans a wide range of settings and patient populations. She has worked with active adults and the general population in outpatient settings and completed clinical rotations in acute care — including time on the neurotrauma unit at Shock Trauma — giving her a well-rounded foundation and the ability to deliver high-quality care across the rehabilitation spectrum. She is also a gymnastics coach, continuing to stay connected to the sport she grew up in.

Jillian has a particular passion for treating gymnasts, dancers, volleyball players, and yoga practitioners, as well as patients with neurological conditions. She remains an active gymnast, volleyball player, and dedicated yoga practitioner, and her personal involvement in these activities gives her a unique understanding of the demands her patients face. Jillian joined True Sports to continue expanding her clinical knowledge and provide the highest level of care to the athletes and active individuals she treats.
