Dr. Ryan Gibney

PT, DPT, CSCS

Ryan Gibney’s passion for physical therapy is rooted in a lifelong commitment to athletics, fitness, and service to others. A three-sport athlete growing up, Ryan played football, basketball, and baseball before continuing his football career at Lebanon Valley College, where he served as team captain and played linebacker. These athletic experiences not only fueled his interest in sports-related injuries and strength and conditioning, but also shaped his drive to support others in reaching their performance goals.

Ryan’s dedication to helping people extends beyond athletics. As a volunteer firefighter, he has developed a deep appreciation for serving his community and has a strong connection to military personnel, first responders, and the active adult population. His compassion, combined with his clinical expertise, drives him to provide meaningful care to individuals from all walks of life.

Ryan earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Lebanon Valley College in 2023, followed by his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2025. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), which strengthens his ability to bridge rehab and performance. Looking ahead, he plans to pursue certification in dry needling to further expand his clinical skill set.

Throughout his graduate training, Ryan gained hands-on experience across various clinical settings. His 16-week rotation at True Sports – Bel Air allowed him to treat a wide range of athletic injuries and work closely with active adults. He also completed two outpatient orthopedic rotations and an eight-week hospital-based rotation, giving him a broad and well-rounded clinical foundation. Prior to physical therapy school, Ryan worked as a strength and conditioning coach in York, Pennsylvania, training athletes of all ages and backgrounds.

Ryan enjoys working with contact sport and field athletes, as well as military and first responder populations. While he has strong interests in these areas, he remains committed to working with individuals of all backgrounds to continue learning and developing as a clinician.

During his DPT program, Ryan contributed to a clinically significant pilot study evaluating the reliability of the KardiaMobile device for assessing heart rate variability (HRV) - a critical marker of cardiac health, recovery, and overtraining. He and his classmates presented their findings in a platform session at the American Physical Therapy Association’s Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) in Houston, Texas, in February 2025.

Ryan Gibney combines athletic experience, academic rigor, and a service-driven mindset to provide thoughtful, high-performance care. His goal is to help every patient recover, return to activity, and reach their highest potential.
