Dr. Dustin Grim is an athlete-turned-physical therapist whose path into the profession was inspired by his own experiences in sports. From a young age, he competed in football, basketball, and volleyball, and throughout those years he faced multiple injuries that led to significant time in rehabilitation. Working with physical therapists during that period highlighted the importance of proper movement, recovery, and education - not only for returning to the court or field, but for long-term performance and health. Those early experiences with sports injuries became the spark that motivated him to pursue a career in physical therapy.
He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training at the University of Pittsburgh in May 2022 and went on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Northeastern University, graduating in August 2025.
During his time at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Grim gained hands-on experience in Division I athletic training rooms across multiple sports, including basketball and volleyball, and spent a season working in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers. At Northeastern University, he worked with several collegiate teams - such as track and field, hockey, and basketball - and completed clinical rotations in sports medicine orthopedics, acute care, and Major League Baseball with the Cincinnati Reds.
With his background and clinical experiences, Dr. Grim has a particular interest in treating field and court athletes, especially those with ankle and knee conditions, including post-operative ACL reconstruction. With extensive experience in volleyball and baseball, he also has a strong interest in working with overhead athletes dealing with shoulder or elbow conditions.
Dr. Grim’s goal is to integrate his athletic history, clinical experience, and sports medicine training to help athletes move better, recover effectively, and return to the sports they love.
