Kevin Weigand's passion for physical therapy began through his love for baseball. As a club baseball player in college — where he earned All-American honors — Kevin experienced the rehabilitation process firsthand following an injury, and saw the impact a physical therapist can have as a coach and guide throughout recovery. That experience inspired him to pursue a career dedicated to helping others regain function and return to the activities they love. An avid runner, Kevin continues to embrace his athletic roots by staying active and participating in various races.
Kevin earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Temple University in 2026. He is currently pursuing advanced training in sports rehabilitation, with plans to earn his Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) certification as well as his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
During his clinical training, Kevin completed two rotations in outpatient orthopedic settings, where he worked with athletes and individuals across all age groups presenting with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries. He also gained exposure to sports medicine and acute injury management through time spent in the athletic training room, building a strong foundation in athlete-focused care across the full continuum of recovery. Kevin is actively engaged in research as well — he presented at Temple University's College of Public Health Research Day on the topic of variability in online post-operative orthopedic rehabilitation protocols and its implications for physical therapy practice.
Kevin's clinical interests center on orthopedic and sports physical therapy, with a focus on injury rehabilitation, return-to-sport progression, movement analysis, and patient education aimed at promoting long-term resilience and injury prevention. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and is committed to advancing his skills through continuing education and evidence-based practice.
