Marshall Lanning

PT, DPT

Marshall Lanning's passion for physical therapy was born from a pivotal moment on the lacrosse field. During his junior year of high school, he tore his labrum in two places at a lacrosse tournament — an injury that required surgery and an extensive rehabilitation process. At a time when the future felt uncertain, that experience opened his eyes to the world of sports physical therapy. Watching his physical therapists guide him back to the field not only changed the trajectory of his athletic career, but gave him a clear sense of purpose: to help other athletes navigate that same journey and return to the sports they love.

Marshall's athletic roots run deep in football and lacrosse. A competitive lacrosse player who competed on numerous travel teams and at showcases throughout high school, he was committed to play Division III lacrosse at Misericordia University before ultimately deciding to step away to focus on his academic path. He went on to play lacrosse at the College of Southern Maryland before transferring to pursue his education full time — a decision that reflected his dedication to building a career in physical therapy.

Marshall completed his undergraduate studies at Towson University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in December 2022. He then entered the University of Maryland, Baltimore in May 2023 and graduated with his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in May 2026.

Marshall has a strong interest in treating football and lacrosse athletes, with a particular focus on lacrosse given his firsthand understanding of the sport's demands and common injury patterns. His own experience navigating surgical rehabilitation as a young athlete gives him valuable perspective when working with patients facing similar challenges.
