Dr. Andrew Livingston

PT, DPT, SCS

Andrew Livingston's venture into the world of physical therapy is deeply influenced by his personal experiences as a football player for Lebanon Valley College in central Pennsylvania. Throughout his athletic career, Andrew encountered numerous injuries, which piqued his interest in anatomy and rehabilitation, particularly within the realm of sports. These experiences not only shaped his understanding of athlete-specific needs but also directed his professional path.

Andrew's educational journey is rooted in Lebanon Valley College, where he achieved a dual degree in Biology and Exercise Science. He furthered his education at the same institution, completing his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. His commitment to specializing in sports physical therapy led him to pursue a Sports Physical Therapy Residency at Saint Francis University (SFU), further solidifying his expertise in the field.

During his student years, Andrew garnered significant hands-on experience through a clinical rotation at EXOS, where he worked with NFL combine athletes, MLB and NBA players, and military members. His residency at SFU provided him with a comprehensive experience, involving clinic work, sideline assistance, and involvement in the training room with Division I Football, women's basketball, and women's lacrosse teams. Additionally, his residency included conducting research and teaching within SFU's Doctor of Physical Therapy program. In 2019, Andrew joined True Sports PT, where he continues to treat high school, college, and professional athletes.

As a testament to his expertise and dedication, Andrew achieved Board Certification as a Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy in 2020. His specialties include Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) rehabilitation, athletic low back pain management, and concussion rehabilitation. These areas of focus are reflective of his comprehensive understanding of sports-related injuries and his ability to provide effective, specialized care.

Andrew's commitment to his profession extends beyond clinical practice. He has contributed to research, with publications in 2019, and actively participates in professional organizations, including The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), The Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association (PPTA), and The American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy (AASPT).

Andrew Livingston's career trajectory, from a collegiate athlete to a specialized sports physical therapist, highlights his deep-rooted understanding of the athlete's perspective. His journey is characterized by a blend of personal athletic experience, rigorous academic preparation, and a strong commitment to advancing the field of sports physical therapy.
