Dr. Jonathan Harned

Jonathan Harned's journey into the field of physical therapy was significantly influenced by his active involvement in various sports during high school, including football, baseball, and indoor track. His experiences with sports injuries and subsequent rehabilitation were pivotal in sparking his curiosity and interest in physical therapy. This personal connection to sports rehab played a crucial role in shaping his career path. Jonathan further pursued his athletic and academic ambitions at Lebanon Valley College, where he played baseball and completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. His passion for sports rehab and helping athletes return to high-level performance stems from his own injuries and firsthand experiences.

Jonathan's academic achievements include a Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences from Lebanon Valley College, obtained in 2018, followed by his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2020. This solid educational foundation provided him with a comprehensive understanding of physical therapy principles and practices.

Professionally, Jonathan has amassed a diverse range of experiences. He completed a professional baseball internship with the Cleveland Guardians in 2020, where he gained valuable insights into sports medicine at a professional level. In 2021, he assisted with medical coverage for Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse, further expanding his expertise in sports physical therapy. Jonathan has also provided medical coverage for various field sports and weight-lifting competitions throughout Maryland. His experience extends to working with elite-level high school athletes, NCAA athletes, and professional athletes in the NFL, MLB, and MiLB, showcasing his ability to work with athletes at all levels.

Jonathan's specialties and areas of focus are broad yet precise. They include strength and conditioning, return to sport for lower extremity injuries such as ACL, meniscus injuries, patellar dislocations, and upper extremity injuries including rotator cuff/labrum tears, UCL tears, and shoulder dislocations. He is particularly adept at handling the overhead throwing athlete and overall athletic performance development. This specialization reflects his deep understanding of the demands and injuries specific to various sports.

Jonathan is an active member of several professional organizations, including the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), The American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy (AASPT), and Rehab Code (Sports Rehab Professional Development). His involvement in these organizations demonstrates his commitment to staying abreast of the latest developments in physical therapy and sports rehabilitation.
