physical therapy for community servants

Why Elite Community Servants Need Physical Therapy STAT

If you live in Baltimore

… Rest assured Baltimore Police SWAT is here to protect the public.

… Policework of all kinds can be a very physical job and Baltimore depends on its law enforcement officers to be in great shape when duty calls.

… Baltimore SWAT relies on True Sports Physical Therapy to provide sports-specific physical therapy that targets the needs of individuals who put their bodies through more physical stress than the average person.

Elite Physical Therapy for Elite Community Servants

True Sports Physical Therapy is the official physical therapy provider to the Baltimore Police SWAT. This elite law enforcement team is committed to fighting crime and protecting the public. Just as True Sports specializes in a specific branch of sports physical therapy, the Baltimore Police SWAT responds to specific emergencies in the Baltimore area.

We are proud to provide extraordinary physical therapy services to the brave men and women who serve the Baltimore community in this capacity. Theirs is a very physical and sometimes dangerous job, and we are happy to support their performance by keeping them fit and healthy for the good of the community.

The Baltimore Police Department, a Culture of Service

As a whole, the Baltimore Police Department is the eighth largest municipal police force in the United States. The department has a mission to create and maintain a culture of service that builds trust in all communities, values the sanctity of life and provides for the safety and well-being of all.

The policing of Baltimore was solidified with the formal founding of the BPD in 1853. The SWAT team was formed to help protect the community after elite teams like these became commonplace across the country in the 1960’s.

SWAT stands for “special weapons and tactics.” Police forces like the BPD depend on the unique training of SWAT teams to respond to dangerous situations that are too risky for ordinary law enforcement to handle. Part of SWAT training includes learning to use military equipment and tactics in criminal conflicts.

Members of the Baltimore SWAT team have proven themselves in the city’s Patrol Division before branching out into the specialized SWAT department. They must display experience and superior fitness and service to be considered for the job. During their tenure as SWAT members, they continue to be held to high standards of performance.

A Specialized Team at the Ready

A job on the Baltimore Police SWAT team is not for the faint-hearted. When normal police forces and equipment are not enough, the SWAT team gets called in.

Just like elite athletes, the Baltimore Police SWAT has specialized training that allows them to work together as a tactical team and use military-grade firearms and equipment not issued to regular patrol officers. This makes them an effective unit against serious situations that are or could become violent such as:

-Terrorist acts

-Criminal drug trafficking and use

-Hostage situations

-Apprehending threatening individuals

-Riot control

The Baltimore Police SWAT team excels at working as a team to protect the public. Each member has a role to play as they coordinate their responses and attacks to the many dangerous situations they face. While many still perform conventional policing activities regularly, they are always at the ready to respond to unconventional emergencies.

To Excel Physically, Rely On Specialized Physical Therapy

Policework of all kinds can be a very physical job and Baltimore depends on its law enforcement officers to be in great shape when duty calls. While we often honor those who have given their lives in the line of duty, most officers put their health on the line every day. Something as minor as being on their feet day after day or as severe as suffering an injury in an altercation can cause physical strain and stress that benefits from physical therapy treatment.

That’s where True Sports comes in. We provide sports-specific physical therapy that targets the needs of individuals who put their bodies through more physical stress than the average person. Our expert therapists understand how the body is affected by SWAT work and how best to help it heal from both repetitive and accidental injuries. We focus on strengthening our clients and helping them perform better after treatment. Pain relief is another of our top goals.

While those who live in Baltimore rely on the Baltimore Police SWAT team to keep them safe, the BPD relies on True Sports Physical Therapy to keep its members fit and ready to serve the community they protect.
